Valve Maintenance and Products
Valves require periodic maintenance to inject a lubricant into the valve cavity. The purpose of the lubricant is to occupy the empty space in the valve cavity, displacing aggressive fluids and contaminants and acting as a barrier to prevent further ingress. The lubricant in the cavity cleans and coats the sealing surfaces of the gate and seat, and provides lubrication protection to these critical surfaces as they interact with each other under high contact pressure.
Valve sealing performance is highly dependent on the condition of the sealing surfaces of the seat. An effective Valve Lubricant also has the ability to improve the tightness of sealing surfaces with minor damage (light scoring and scuffing), Lubsur® Valve Lubricants have a well proven track record in this area.
Whether servicing a single wellhead, or an entire field, valve maintenance is of critical importance in oilfield production. Scheduled preventative maintenance can add years to the service life of a valve, reduce repair costs and down time, and minimize replacement needs. Without a proper maintenance schedule, valves can corrode, fail to operate, and ultimately cause loss of product. Scheduled maintenance will prevent: Rusting stem threads, drying and hardening of stem packing, build up of dirt, rust, slag, etc., restricted gate travel, internal corrosion, sealing failure.
Greases available:
Type A: Basic valve grease / Mid-range temperature (-30 to 120 °C) / Mid-pressure range (14 - 35mpa) / Corrosion inhibitor / Waterproof.
Type B: High temperature (-25 to 288 °C) / Mid-pressure range (14 - 35mpa) / Will not melt / Waterproof / Non-toxic.
Type C: Low and high temperature (-59 to 121 °C) / High pressure (35 - 70mpa) / Synthetic / Biodegradable / Acid resistant / Hydrocarbon resistant / Carbon monoxide resistant / Sulphur dioxide resistant / Non-toxic.

Lubsur ® Xtra Valve AF
, is a superior valve lubricant which reduces friction during operation of valves.
It allows valves to turn easily, thereby extending their lifetime and performance.
Contains 100% Synthetic Oils with a non-soap thickener.
Lubsur ® Xtra Valv AF is resistant to Aliphatic Hydrocarbons, Aromatic Crude
Distillates, Crude Oil, Diesel Fuel, Hydrocarbon Liquids, Kerosene, LPG, Lubricating

Lubsur ® Ultra Valve HP
, This product has withstood testing in condensate, high pressure and up to 42% CO2.
Lubsur ® Ultra Valve HP is a superior Valve Sealant which greatly enhances the
sealing ability of passing valves. It allows valves to seal thereby extending their
lifetime and performance.
Lubsur ® Ultra Valve HP is resistant to solvents and chemicals including sour gas,
sour crude, hydrogen sulphide, crude oil, diesel, carbon dioxide, hydrochloric acid,
brine, water and condensates, as well as drilling muds. It is waterproof and will
not harden. As a Sealant, it adheres to valve seats and internal parts.

Lubsur ® FPC VF
, is a superior valve flush/penetrant/cleaner. It is a multi-ingredient, semi-fluid
combination of penetrants, cleaners and lubricants engineered for difficult or impossible
to operate valves.
Lubsur ® FPC VF (Valve Flush) is for use on hard to operate, passing or seized valves.
It will penetrate and clean valve seats and ball.

Lubsur ® SST SV
, is a synthetic sealant formulated for general hydrocarbon service
where older valves are passing. It contains fine PTFE flakes suspended in a hydrocarbon
resistant base.
Lubsur ® SST SV is used for sealing valves with moderate seal wear and is also suitable
for use on threads, gaskets, stuffing boxes and valve stems.
Lubsur ® SST SV can be used to seal valves in the following services: Aliphatic
hydrocarbons, crude distillates, crude oil, diesel fuel, hydrocarbon liquids, kerosene,
LPG and lubricating oils.
